Itinerary of the diving tour for beginners in Galapagos
- The day before the diving tour, you must report to the office to test the equipment.
- The guide will give you a talk of approximately 20 minutes in which he will give you
indications and information about how to use the equipment.
Get ready for your first dive
When you reach the diving spot, you will make the first dive at a depth of approximately
10 to 12 meters, depending on the current. These conditions are ideal for beginners
with little to no experience or people who do not have a diving license. You will be able to
observe starfish of various colors, schools of fish, octopus, sea turtles, whitetip reef
sharks swimming along the current or resting on the seabed, and sometimes even
hammerhead sharks and mobulas.
The second dive will be done in Daphne Island, at approximately 13 to 15 meters depth. The currents there are stronger, so it is recommended only for advanced or licensed divers. For beginners or divers without a license, this spot is ideal for snorkeling.
For beginners, due to safety reasons, the recommended activity is snorkeling in this island, where you will be able to observe corals and plankton, as well as swim with schools of fish of various colors. At the seabed you can spot starfish, Galapagos sharks, whitetip reef sharks and occasionally hammerhead sharks, mobulas, eagle rays and golden cownose rays. After 40 minutes, you will return to the Itabaca Channel, from where a shuttle will take you to our offices.
